Mercedes say about 6% fuel economy related with bigger stroke and more sufisticated CRD injection. They compared 13L OM471 with 12L OM501. Not sure about DD15, becouse engine of the same output is OM502 V8, that was not used in US class 8 trucks. To compare with S60... it is less fuel erfficient comparing with OM460 (MBE4000).

anyway figures are aruond 30l/100 km.

But CRD engines are more "flexible" and easier to drive

What cruising speed were you going? I'm not allowed to float because this guy says the clutch linkage is lastic lmao when he's awake I clutch out and float in I still disagree that 1200 rpm on the highside is too low fully loadedi averaged 10 from pa to fl on 95

lol i ran that without the cruise lol. i was harldy ever on flatland. they liked to keep me in the hills and mnts. i can prob count on one hand the loads i had that were under 60k... not many. as long as you know the additude the truck you have has, then you will be in sync in no time. lol i cant blame your trainer. i didnt let my students float. unless i seen them do it and it was smooth, no issues.

The word smooth and my trainer cannot be used in the same sentence. He tells me I'm too smooth I need to shift faster ( then we argue about the 400 rpm between gears)

well, you can be smooth and shift at the needed rpm...theres gotta be an issue somewhere if hes getting in to you. ive had students that i had to keep an eye on when they were shifting because i could either hear a problem or feel it.... and i make sure to corect it, beacuse they are not the ones paying my repair bills later...

Lol you don't have a clue. Let me guess as a trainer do u forget to check the height of your trailer and wedge the kingpin in front of the wheel? Also do you reset your fuel mileage going down hill to make yourself feel better? What about running 90mph down the hills of Wyoming weighig 79500? Care to take illegal u-turns in the middle of public roads? Well my trainer does .... Like I said you have no clue if I was not 10k miles away from going solo I would get a new trainer

You have absolutely no idea. He blamed me for getting pulled in for a phase 2 inspection. He was running his mouth about how I must of acted suspicious the whole time during the inspection. So at the end I go to the dot officer " did I do something wrong to get pulled in here cuz this guy insists its my fault". Dot officer said its completely random and how many trucks are out here at 3 am to pull in..... That's what kind of "trainer" I'm dealing with

i get it, he has issues but when you are talking about him in the begining it just sounded like a crying student thats not used to this job. but obviously now that you actually explain alil better.... it helps. my student got pulled in too, only because our company was flagged to be checked. my truck nvr has reason to be pulled in otherwise. it wasnt his fault and i didnt yell at him, i just walked him through it. there are trainers out there to help and others to just use student as road runners and not teach them anything other than drive forward. unfortunately you have a horrible one and i would try to get another trainer of you cant finish your milage with him. im sorry you are in the that situation.
