    Truck turned 30K today.

Just finished a heavy (79-79,600 lbs gross depending on fuel) load from West Virginia to Brownsville, TX with a stop in Laredo. Lots of short-choppy rolling hills on this route plus a fair amount of 2-lane in Texas. Oh, and a total of 15 hours idling at night due to the heat.

6.6 MPG. I planned for 6.5 but hoped for 7. I saw as high as 7.4 from mid-TN to Dallas.

Makes one wonder: that sounds like reading off of the display for mpg. Wonder how close that was to actual calculated pump to pump fuel mileage. The display on the truck I just traded in was off by about a .5 compared to actual. If it said 8 mpg, I was really around 7.5. Will be interesting to see how my new FL Columbia glider I pick up tomorrow will compare.

I noticed with my Century, once the computer got set correctly for tire rotations, diameter and transmission stuff, I am off on my fuel economy by about 0.1 mpg computer vs tank to tank.

I attribute that to the APU running when I am sitting cooling the truck.

Actually I get my MPG readings off the flowmeter built in the QualCom. I have to be stopped in order to check the readings and do math once in a while to see what the point to point mileage is as the flowmeter measures overall MPG for a certain trip. As soon as the trip is over it zeros out and starts over.

What's the trainer whining about? He's getting paid for your miles too, right?
