DT 60 breather pipe So, my 2000 Dt 60 series smokes a lot through the breather pipe I heard it's kind of normal for these motors. I was thinking about running a hose from the breather pipe to the air filter housing so the motor would suck it and burn it
any suggestions? tips?

Hmmmm, hybrid EGR....
Dont bother mate. Just let it go and drive it.
All motors need a crank case vent, otherwise say goodbye to oil seals.
Just let it do what its been doing and enjoy not having EGR etc.

only thing that bothers me is the smell that sometimes comes in side the cab.

If that's the case, then just extend the line backwards towards the rear of the rig.
You do have the filter in the HVAC housing don't you?

I did think about that and Yes, I do have the HVAC filter in there but still gets inside when it's warm outside like where I was in Florida last week.

I never noticed it on my old Century with a Detroit in it.
I would just extend it before putting it into the intake etc.

I had the same issue with mine so I welded a nipple to the exhaust and ran a new hose to it.

if you have noticed a rather significant increase in crankcase vapor discharge, I'd be taking it in and getting a compression test done on the engine.
Most likely loosing a piston ring somewhere.

yep, closed crancase vent system is used on late Volvo D13, all merc PLD engines and on some MAN and Scania engines. really it is emissiong issue. The bad news - you gotta oil in intercooler and sometimes when intake goes too hot you have to remove intercooler to flush.
