I sugest power supply ore can/datalink to ADM, btw, ADM is hidden... in pas side B-pillar, near the battery saver. Made by VDO

I was going to suggest the same magic box Pablo, if it had a MBE in it.
The MBE does have a habit of doing weird things where that box is concerned huh?

really mercedes ECU (Temic) is controlled by can only. Idle speed, RPM and torque request comes by CAN to ECM. This is can of propriate format used by mercedes only. On MB trucks and buses they use FR (Farzeug Regulerung) unit made by VDO. Really it is a kind of VECU. Gas pedal (PWM type), some sensors, tempomat (cruise controll) are all functions of FR. For non Mercedes Vehicles and marine, industrial application Mercedes makes ADM, really it is a variant of FR. On SAE vehicles ADM got J1708/1587 datalink and J1939 CAN, on European vehicles ADM use KWP (k-line datalink for diagnostics). On US trucks KWP pins are unused (look at Engine ECM, pin #13 on X2 connector is unused), but I can easily hook up Star Diagnose to any MB engine and ADM.

But pay attention, that MID of SAE ADM is MID128, not MID 140!!!!!! They did it for easy connection without any reprogramming with other SAE ECMS, like Instruments, TCU, EBS/ABS and other stuff.

I work on many vehicles with MB engines, like Sterling, Freightliner, Thomas, MAZ, Kirovez, Setra and many other... so I know about some secrets of Mercedes engine)))) BTW, about MAZ bus... nobody knows where is the diagnostic connector.... it is in roof!!!!
