i have a 2005 century with 650k miles on it, its a detroit 515hp motor, i am loosing about 2 gallons of coolant a day, no visible signs of a leak, no white smoke coming from exhaust, no leakage from coolant reservoir or overflow, checked oil which looks clean could it be the egr cooler? always smells of coolant inside the truck, sometimes see white mist coming through the vents when heavy and climbing hills.
    thanks
    Rich

    Sounds like a heater core.

Yep, sure does. Look to see if you have a shut off valve on the heater hoses and close it off to see if that helps narrow it down. 2 gallons is a lot, so you should see a puddle under the truck if it sits for a spell.

This would be my guess to based on you other posts.

But also don't forget to run out the compressor and air system, are the tanks collecting more liquid than normal?

    Hi Brycey1,
If there are not visible signs of acoolant leaks it's going in the engine and burning it.
It could be the EGR cooler or the Head they have had a problem with that. Take it to Montreal and have them eliminate that EGR system and do some Econ tuning.
Doing that will increase Fuel Econ, Power and no more 39 codes ever again.
    thank you ISF

also check your fuel tanks,, for coolant, if the injector cups bushing is bad you will get coolant in the fuel, if it has water line valves turn them off to eleminate the heater cores in the cab an the bunk,, good luck

This is exactly what i'm going through. I don't have bunk heater, but before I bought the truck that i saw how they bypassed the heater line from back of the bunk.
