I understand now, yea mine does that idling, especially during the warmer months, it will craw up to above 200. Those EGR engines probably run a little warmer than my Pre EGR engine also.

Bad radiator, cooling temp sensor or thermostat. Purchase an infrared temp gun. Search ebay for "LASER TEMP GUN" or "Infared temp gun." They can be had for less than $20.00 bucks. Perfect for trouble shooting problems like this. A laser shoots out so you know where you're shooting and it gets the temperature almost instantly, usually within a split second. These are good for finding hot hubs, tires, brakes, radiators, A/C temp, reefer temps, etc. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-new-I...328?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51a783e2d0

Mine did this last summer....I had to blow the dust out of the radiator/air charger and A/C condenser. I also learned that in the computer settings you can have the fan engage when you bump the idle up...or just simply turn on the A/C, which will engage the fan as well....run cooler at idle.
