My old one would slow down going up a decent size hill empty, so I feel your pain.
Best bet is to put it on a dyno at a Detroit shop. I can HIGHLY recommend Insterstate Diesel in Altoona,Ia. Jack there know his stuff. He works the 4pm to midnight shift.

S60's, N14's and 3406's fell victim to astringent EPA regulations that exceeded the engineering capabilities of the diesel combustion engine, not because they were "cheap". In fact, they were all champs. How you think you could possibly compare an MBE 460 to any of those motors just because your in Europe is laughable, at best. Perhaps your unaware that these motors are made in Sao Paulo, Brassilia not Germany. The principal, perhaps, that Volvo Trucks NA and Volvo Trucks EU are not the same animal by any degree, should be observed. The MBE 460 we a fleet welcomed, fuel sipping, budget economy engine that could barely climb a hill. At 1550f/t you need a good run with all 460HP to hold the hill. It is better than the 2,000's model 360HP Mack trucks. That was its appeal. That's all there is to say about that.

I have one of these freight liners with the Mercedes Benz engines and had the injectors changed, just changed the ECM and the truck will still just start backfiring at unsung like the lifters tapping very loud, etc. if you #### off the engine for a bit around thirty minutes and start it back up everything is fine. Can anyone give me any advice on what the issue is or what I should do next I’m trying to get grained hauled to the elevator and need this truck very bad
