Hi can somebody pls help
I have a 1993 Freightliner , my high beam lights are not working. I checked for broken wires etc.
In the fuse panel box , there is only relays and breakers. I have no clue what to do or how to start checking them.
my local dealer won't even give me wiring diagram etc.
Can somebody give my step by step directions what to do
Thanks

if i remember you dim the lights with the same handle as the turn signal. had the same problem once but cant remember which truck was like that. if that is where the dimmer is on your truck might try there. hope you find the problem

frank, you know where the start is off the high beamcircuit?
Start measuring from there to see if you have current.
Then follow the wires, measuring as you go.Last edited: Mar 2, 2013

freightliners dont have fuses. Check the relay should be on the left side there will be two relays one for left on for right. check both of them if nothing after that dimmer switch. also check for power at the lights

oh and ps you will have a heck of a time following the wiring

you might laugh at me but on a few occasions I have seen both headlights blow the same beam out on each one. Look for the little things first change one headlight and if it has both beams change the other one and check

And what happens if you have a short? -
There is a relay for the high beams. It is in your middle panel under a/c controls in the cab. Pull the panel off and on the left there is usually 3 rows of relays. I think the middle row is the row that has the headlight relays (there are four relays in this row). It should be labeled above them. If not just buy a new relay and swap them until you find the bad one. Make sure you have the key on when testing headlights on a Freightliner. If I was at work I could tell you the exact relay. I have the FLD relay location wrote down after I found a truck that had perfect labels on everything. If you don't figure it out I can tell you Monday.
