check your codes. I am not sure on your year but. turn key in the on position, but do not start. hit the override switch & count the amount of times the light flashes. example. if the light flashes 4 times then a short pause then 3 times. that would be code 43. if you can get the code we can tell you what it means. with the fan coming on it sounds like a sensor is going bad telling the engine it is running hot, causing the fan to kick on. it could also be a bad ground somewhere.

I drive a 2011 cascadia, the yellow check light comes on intermittently when the coolant starts to get low. When looking at it,looks like its got enough. Light also comes on when I've been driving in wet conditions for a bit. If it starts to flash on and off, or the red check light comes on its about to shut down. You can press the engine override button on the dash each time it starts to flash, about every 90 seconds,to get you somewhere to check it,as long as the pressure and temp guage show good. Good luck.

DD15 supports no flash codes. There is dashboarfd with bord compter. use diagnostic menu to read stored and active codes. post codes in SAE format here.

Yea u should be getting a code on the dash definetly a sensor if u feel no loss of power or engine dirate u should be ok. Those lights always make me nervous I got one last week along with ecu 51 and it turned off by itself.

I tried to check codes this way, but It did not work!

    The dealership wants 110/hr
    and 110 for diagnosis.

Where can I go to get this looked at for a reasonable price?

Double check your coolant level, mine did that ,it look good but on second check it was right at the sensor and if it dropped a hair the light would come on the go off on the coolant pump cycle.

if youre getting close to 300000 miles it could be dpf getting ready to tell u it needs cleaning they are programmed to derate around that time frame another common problem is ecm connection gets dirty due to where its located and truck starts doing doing funny things my 09 ended up in shop 8 times countless sensors and 25ooo dollars 4 tows later it turned out to be a dirty connection shops were just changing parts acccording to codes in ecm

    It's at the freightliner dealership,

    $125/hr

They claim they have spent 3 hrs diagnosing and found it was a temperature sensor. I told them it could be a sensor when I brought it in, so I doubt it actually took 3 hrs.

Well, now its a $700 fix!

    My rant is over.
