Had a noise start the other day. It sounds like bearing noise. I have a 13spd eaton fuller. The noise is in the lower gears, 1-4 and 5lo-8lo. The noise is not there in 5hi-8hi. Told it could possibly be in the lo-hi splitter units that are on the tail housing. Need help please! Thanks in advance, ehayes2.

Well, since nobody else has replied, here's my 2 cents on that. If you are absolutely sure it's in the trans, and, unless you are fluent in trans rebuilding, I would think it's time to take it to a shop
that you are comfortable with. Whether it's in the rear section or not, if you have bearing noise, I'd think you would want to get it looked into asap, so you don't break down 200 miles from nowhere.
They should be able to tell you if it's the rear section, or if you are looking at a full rebuild. I always thought the rear section dealt with the direct/over split only, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I think you are headed for some shop time, so good luck. (We all hate those bills). -
Check all of the driveline yokes.Look for rust around the nut.I have seen loose yokes/bad u joints cause all kinds of weird noise.

It,s the rear mainshaft bearing ( In the main Box ) whining due to wear in the bush in the input shaft-eventually you will have trouble selecting between direct and overdrive
