AJ, I am overjoyed with the reader mate! It brought up an AC code too, so it obviously reads the truck side as well as engine etc. VERY happy with it, thanks for the recommendation mate!
Pablo, IIRC, my No3 was at 100% on the compression, with the lowest being at @90% on one cylinder.
I glanced at the balance test results, but didnt take a lot of notice of them to be honest. I do know that Clayton had me drive it a few miles then come back, for him to hook it up again, and he was happier the second time.

Was very impressed with the reader though.Clayton hooked up their laptop at the dealer for the AC200 code, and the scanner gave a more accurate description than their OEM software did! All they saw was ac controller fault. When I got home, it actually said what switch isn't sending a reading back to the ecm, and high or low voltage etc too. very impressed.

IMO, engine is good and no reason to fix anything
slight cylinder disbalklance yiu can hear when engine load/rpm changes is not the problem
On European cabovers engine seems to run smoother becouse they use four point cab suspention, on US conventionals driver is not so isolated from engine vibrations and that's why you feel more.
In EU they use generally V6 and V8 PLD Engines on class 8 trucks to get flat floor in cab. But there are cheaper trucktor modes called Axor with six in line cylinders. There is a bit smaller engine - OM457 (12L, not 12.7). People say fuel milage is a bit better with 457.
Reallly this engine was used not only on Daimler trucks, but for example on early models of Volganin buses, but manufacter concidered this engine too big for 40' bus and they switched to Cummins ISL. -
The good readings were after replacing the No2 cylinder pump, high pressure line, pass through tube and nozzle. I had everything already, besides a nozzle, so replaced it all to be sure we got the bad part. Parts cost me nothing really, as I already had them as spares.

really there are workshops here were PLD pump may be rebuilt
it is usually about $300-400 -
EGR valve and 1 injector pump already used. I have spare heads, oil cooler, all sensors, unit pumps, ecm and so on. Basically everything from a motor with a spun bearing that could be reused, down to the camshaft!

I dont have a reply but have a question my engine light came on, took it to the mechanic. I have mbe 4000 and my 6 injector has a fail reading on the mechanic hand held computer,no want to really work on it when i call is it something i can fix my self Thank You All

What was the fault exactly? Number 6 cylinder you say?
Depending on the specific code, it could be a wiring problem, blocked nozzle, or the unit pump itself. "plunger not responding" or something like that, would be odds on favorite it's the unit pump.

Hand handle computer... there were old HHT used before 2000, before based on PC stardiag appered. It had text display only. Now minidiag is used. But minidiag may be used for PLD, DD-6 and ADM/FMR/FR units. Not full truck diagnostics.
For example MAZ dealers have minidiag to work on MB engines, but no Star Diagnose.
