I have a 2006 series 60 with the EGR valve and no DPF. I'm considering all options. One of the options is retrofitting the Coronado with a 2014 DD15 and all electronic modules that go with it. Anyone in here know anyone who has done this or a shop that has experience doing this? My truck is practically just getting broken in.

Why on earth would you feel the need to replace a perfectly good S60 with a DD15?

I have the DD15 and would give both kidneys for a S60.

sounds like a DD15 salesman found another victim, and talked them into switching his good motor out, to put a boat anchor in it's place.

If you really want a DD15, get a truck that came with it. I'd stick with the 60 series, get it rebuilt or replaced with another 60 series if needed. If you're in The People's Republic of California, you may be out of luck, on many counts ;)

Too much work for very little to no return. If you're saddled with the need to deal with California, I'd think it would be cheaper both in time and money to buy a compliant truck outright.

I don't WANT to replace the engine OR install a DPF. As of now I am staying out of Cali for a couple of years unless they start opening factories over there. I plan to either trade or sell the truck at the end of next year. If I don't do that, I will convert it into a RV and then buy a new truck. Otherwise I expect that other O/O's will try to save money by converting S60 engines to DD15's. I just haven't run into anyone who has done this.

Detroit has until the end of this year to find a DPF that they will warranty or I suspect the lawsuits will start rolling in. They sold trucks promising a DPF by the date that CARB mandated, and they haven't delivered. No surprise there.
