Have kind of a strange problem. The two 12v plugs on my dash keep blowing. Here is what happened. I usually have a 150 watt inverter plugged into the one outlet closest to me. I run my GPS and charge my phone off of it. Have done that for months now no problem. I have also charged my headset at the same time with no problems. So the other day I had my regular setup and my student had his GPS plugged into the other outlet. All I did was disconnect my phone from the charger and both plugs went dead.
I dug around and replaced the two fuses, both mini 15's. They worked fine after that. Today I disconnected his GPS from the outlet further away and the fuse blew. Why is this happening? Why does it blow when I disconnect? Is there an easy fix?

If it was not happening before I'd say the newest factor to a new problem is your students gps.

Other plugs have a higher amp fuse.
The 'refrigitrator' plug is 20 amp.
My coffee maker works fine there but blows the front ones.
    Check your fuse panel sheet.

Possibly there is a short in his plug , a loose connection could move and short out when you unhook. Try unplugging the GPS at the unit first then unplug it, this might solve the problem..I would recommend getting his GPS plug checked . Hate to see it cause a fire. By the way , if your inverter is running maxed out it will draw 12.5 amps..if you were to max it out and the gps spikes starting it could just over load the 15 amp fuse.
