I have a 2013 freightliner with a dd13 and I need to find out how much refrigerant I need to charge into the ac system.

Call freightliner, but you should find out where your leak is first. My guess is about 3.5 pound, which what I got charge for last summer

My Pete holds 5lbs fully charged shop recommended putting 4lbs in. Before 100 degree outside temp. 100 degree inside temp after 4lbs. 100 degree outside 57.8 out of the vents works for me.

Look for a tag on the firewall under the air cleaner where the AC connections are. That will tell you the exact amount.

Don't "guess" on how much you should put in. Too much, and it will cool as if you don't have enough. You've already gotten quite the range of amounts. And as little as 1/2 lb of freon will make a big difference to you.

yep, use A/C gauge manyfold. I use to fill system to get not more 10 BAR in low side when engine is off and about 30-35 BAR when A/C is on in high pressure side.

What does BAR mean in UA? 10 BAR as I know it is about 145 PSI and 35 BAR is over 500 PSI, which is way too high. Using pressure to fill the system is a good way to do it, but you need to know the ambient temp, since pressure changes so much with temperature. Here's a chart to tell about how much pressure you should see at certain temps:

In my experience, pick a temp that is 10-15 degrees higher than what the chart says.
