can anyone tell me how this works and how it installs on the engine. i assume it pulls a vacuum to keep egr valve closed but not sure and would really like to know before spending 450 dollars on it. also does anyone have any results of installing this tuner wiether good or bad

Actually, it fools the computer into thinking you are at a high altitude... Thus disabling the EGR system all together. Honestly, I can save you some money on this purchase... I drive an 04 Columbia with the 14.0 liter and I've installed a module that I purchased off EBay. The EGR still fully functions at idle but while driving it is totally disabled.. My problem was engine bogging and the occasional hiccup ( more like everytime I accelerated) during acceleration... Both of these problems TOTALLY disappeared once I plugged this thing in... GONE!!! G-O-N-E... Go to Ebay and enter this number on the search line.. 190849548254.. The hell with the bs and all the other rumors... I have this module on my truck...right now....and for about 2 months!!! It works!!!!!

driver I just saw this thread...I had an EGR tuner, it was awesome!!! it did take me a couple tries to get the accumulator that houses the barometric sensor to seal completely. BEST investment ever. fan rarely came on. and gained about a 1 mpg. 2004 century/14l/13/3.55 and 6 to 6.5 mpg running 70 mph most the time.

did you have the actually egr tuner or the barometric sensor replacement? i am leaning toward the barometric replacement but have questions about tricking the computer into thinking its at a higher altitude. mainly since it thinks the air is thinner wouldn't it want to run a leaner mix on the fuel/air ratio?

I had the complete kit. not the electronic thing. Im not sure what your thoughts on Leaner air fuel ratio as this is not a gas motor, Turbo diesel are the opposite of gas motor...gas motor leaner makes power but makes heat, more fuel cools the combustion but takes away power. Diesel motor less fuel is less power and less boost and therefor less heat, more fuel means more power and more heat. this does not lean any thing out. it gives you max boost and the absolute minimum exhaust gas recycle. Just a note, those that have the true erg tuner from justice are 100% happy that should tell you some thing.

I liked it so much that I pursue an 03 to 07 model because I know how to fix the egr crap for 400.

you will not regret this, youll wish you did it sooner!!
