What brand?
-
well how often do you rotate and balance your steers check your air pressure
3 axle alignment?
we really need more info -
Tire pressure is at 105 psi and they are Yokohama with only 20k miles. No rotation yet. The old one had the problem and replaced them thinking it might a tire issue.
-
did you get a 3-axle recently?
Cause is sounds like you just made a nice pair of trailer tires for yourself. -
I has some weird wear on a set of steers a while back. Had alignment done 3 times. The last tech found that the front axle was bent and throwing the camber off resulting in the wear problem along with the alignment.

I posted this elsewhere but it is relevant.
On a 2005 Columbia:
My XZA3+ experience: (using centramatics)
1st set 197,000 miles no spin balance or rotation. Drivers side still had 10/32" passenger side was shot.
2nd set 154,000 miles never spin balanced, rotated at half life side to side, I knew almost right away I had made a mistake in rotating. Drivers side tire now moved to passenger side and deteriorated quickly. Pulled with 12/32" on the good one and barely a casing credit on the other.
The right side always wears faster. Do you have a brass wedge between your right side spring and axle? A good alignment shop will put one in. It helps a lot.
Who is installing your tires? Tire shop or truckstop? I wouldn't let the truckstop mount a wheelbarrow tire. -
The tires are installed in tire shop and yes, it has a brass wedge on the right side. Now it has started shaking at 50 to 55 mph.

My best guesses are
Miss mounted tire
Improper balance
Defective tire
Once the tire developed one spot of excessive wear it will behave just like you describe. Steering wheel going back and forth, etc. I've never been able to stop that once it starts and feel that throwing tire labor at it as in rotating, re- balancing, rotating 180 degrees, etc does nothing.
Best to pull it off and use on a trailer before it is completely destroyed.
