Just got put into a Cascadia, and I keep hearing that they are almost always over 12000 lbs on the steers. Anyone know about this? I was 12,300 on my
steers rolling through the Knoxville scale yesterday on a 20,000 pound load, so I'm wondering if anyone else knows what is with the steer axle being over on the Cascadia.

sounds like your fifth wheel needs to be slid back if It can be... They are such a widely used truck that I wouldn't think they would be that heavy normally on the steers

I had one, it would usually run between 11700-11800.
Was a 2012 with the DD15, with ClimaCab, pulling Reefer Trlrs.

I did move the 5th wheel, but I currently can't move my truck since I have no hours to drive til tomorrow, and I'm at a little truck stop with no scale. But I also noticed that the Cascadia (with the 5th wheel slid all the way back) I was in when in training did the same thing a year ago. I never had that problem with the Prostar I drove and the 5th wheel was all the way back on it.

U must be in one of those super heavy cascadias Gordon sold. I thought they sold all of them. There was a driver i met a while back having trouble adjusting his weight on the front because of the model cascadia he had. He said he ran into overweights all the time and he wasn't pulling heavy.

No, I don't think so. It's not a gordon Cascadia. I'm just wondering why our trucks are that heavy on the steers, I don't want to get a ticket for being over on them on a state highway or get popped if the DOT gets anal and wants to check my gross vehicle weights sitcker on the inside of my door, because it is only rated to 12,000 pounds. Checked that sticker earlier.

Check and see what your tires are rated for that will get you in more trouble than anything.

Checked tire ratings and they are 6175 lbs per steer tire, so I should be ok for now
