Absoutley agree with johnp3, with the cleanliness of the evaperator and condenser. The first thing I check with poor a/c performance in a classic is to make sure the condenser is free of dirt and debris. With that big hood, its real easy for them to get dirty, quick. If you put a gauge on the system, the high side is most likely going to be high with the fan engaged. Another quick check is to stand on the passanger side of the radiator with the fan on. See if the air is blowing to the engine, or blowing to the side. A plugged radiator/cac/condenser will cause the fan to blow air to the sides of the radiator, instead of toward the engine.

The evaperator is easy to see if it is plugged, by poor air flow coming out of the vents.

One thing I found was those fancy grill screens made of plastic with designs on them are really Junk a good test is to with a power washer pointed straight in, not at an angle, engine at 1200 RPM fan engaged spray from about 6 ft, look at the pattern, then remove the screen and spray again.
Washing the cores is a good thing, it works better with the fan on, engine cool, and from about 3 inches in a steady slow pattern, first with soap, then a rinse.
Replace the cab filter, and if needed remove the heater core cover and clean the cores of the layer of felt like material, from dust.
    Just a thought!

There is no filter in my 06 and the a/c seems like the fan is blowing good...its just not getting through the vents. Mechs are gonna clean my condensor tonight...hope that works!
