I'm about to get changed over to driving a Freightliner Cascadia. I was in a Prostar. I found it to be loud at times and heavy on the steering, also the lighting in the cab strained my eyes at night, especially the dome lighting above the bed area when I would try to read my books. What should I expect out of the Cascadia's interior features such as comfort, lighting, and handling?
Cascadia?

Classic. I watched a show they took like 10 drivers to drive the cascadia then the pro star, they're very close but the pro star won by being a little more comfortable.
You will never drive a perfect truck until you buy your own outta pocket -
I've never actually driven a Prostar, but I've ridden in one. I would say that the cascadia is definitely quieter. The interiors are different, but both feel equally roomy to me personally. The lights in here at night aren't too bright for me, sometimes they're too dim depending on what I want to do.
I think the truck handles well, but I don't have much to compare to, since I've only driven a Cascadia. I never feel like I'm not in control, and it has never felt hard to steer really. All in all, it's not a bad truck. If you get a fuel bonus through your company, you'll see more money there, the Cascadia has the Prostart beat in fuel mileage as far as I know. I'm getting around 7.3 mpg in mine pulling a 42,000 lb load over flat areas. -
The company I work for is Supermaz, which we pull Hirschbach trailers. Every driver who drives Freightliner cascadia say they are more comfortable than prostar.

I put 40k miles on a brand new '13 Cascadia at my previous job before switching to a much better company. Hands down the best truck I ever drove. Very comfortable, extremely quiet ride, insulated out the ying yang, and the headlights....amazing field of vision at night. I've driven several trucks and many makes but as a company driver the Cascadia worked well for me. I say company driver because although I treat them like my own, I could care less about the "cost per mile" and all that non sense. That's for the owner to deal with.
When I switched companies I ended up in a brand new Peterbilt 386 and wasn't pleased as my '11 587 was a heavy pile of junk that quickly detoriated into a group of loose fitting parts that didn't like each. The 386 seems to be manufactured by a whole different company. Much better craftsmanship and durability.Trucker Jo and Jrdude5 Thank this. -

How is the interior lighting on the Cascadia? Is it overwhelmingly bright or way to dim?
