Has anyone heard of a recall on the NOX sensors for the 2012 Cascadia? Friends of our have had stuff going on with their truck, and some of it is probably because they have taken it to the company shop instead of a dealer, but they said now that they are fixing a NOX sensor recall... Their plain amber light has been on, with an occasional amber check engine light... Well so has ours. No loss of power, just the straight amber light with a occasional amber check engine...

    TIA for any info...

Call a dealer with your vin number. If there is a recall on your truck it will show.

I called cummins about mine after being told by my shop it was a issue with the motor. Cummins told me just run it because it ment a regen was needed and I wasn't getting the motor hot enough to properly regen. Mine eventually got hot enough and did a regen but another truck never would. His has been on steady for almost a year. Never showed a regen lite just a yellow check engine lite. Never a derate of power.

Plain yellow light in the shape of an engine is the malfunction indicator lamp, it means a sensor isn't working correctly. That is with the DD engines, and probably for Cummins, too.

Book says to report the problem before going out again, OK to run to finish a load.

Well we have a call into Freightliner, but no call back yet.. Maybe it is the NOX sensor.. Our 'load' though lasts a full week. 4970 miles worth.. Then one day down and do it again.. Here's hoping it will be OK for at least that long!!
