pyrometer/egt install

    i'm running a S60 ddec iv 12.7L and i want to intsall a pyrometer/egt guage where is a good place to install the probe for the pyrometer/egt?

    4 inches after the turbo in the down pipe.

    Do you have a boost gauge? That would be a much more helpful / useful addition if you don't have one already.

    As said, @4" down from the turbo on the "S" pipe on the exhaust side.
    Remove the S pipe, drill the hole for the bung, weld in the bung, refit pipe, insert sender unit, wire in.
    If you also need a turbo gauge, get a mechanical one and fit the hose to one of the blanking plugs in the intake manifold.

    most stock freightliner fld120 and classic you will find the pyro needle mounted in the turn pipe off the turbo. freightliner finally after years of begging sells a kit with the gauge needle wiring mounting nut for easy install in a fld or classic. hope this helps
