If it was me I would trade it in, or if you can find one in truck salvage to get you thru for a while.

There is a reason Freightliner only made them for a couple of years, pisses me off when manufactures use the customer for their R&D programs.

I had a 2008 Cascadia and I LOVED the rack and pinion. I was actually able to keep my Acura on the road when I took home time. Obviously Freightliner didn't implement their version very well as they had LOTS of problems. Guess I should cut them some slack. Rack and pinion steering is only about 75 year old technology. That's pretty cutting edge in the truck building business! I'm still waiting on my disc brakes and key fob door locks too!

(PS: I'm aware that disc brakes are available as an option, lol)

LOL, have disc's and key fob on my Pete, but no R&P! I still think it was a good idea, I just don't think they put enough time and money into it.

disk brakes are not problem free too. Cracked disks, worn caliper liners, broken piston synchro chain....

EBS - new option for trucks - wirig problems, expencive modulators.

Any new technology is expencive and not reliaBLE ENOUGHT

I'd ask an independent frame/ axle shop about bolting on a standard set up from another truck. Do the whole thing springs, hangers, axle, everything.

2009 cascadia run mostly winnipeg to montreal on rough roads. 1.1 millon km on 3rd paid rack plus 2 free ugraded ones probaly would be cheaper to buy parts off a wreck and solve problem once and for all. i do LtL they say its from turning too sharp

Armada alignment shop in Long Beach, California is very well known in the area. He recommends swapping it all over to the other style and problems will be solved for a long time. It isnt cheap though, but is a permanent fix.
