solenoid for fan clutch on 2000 century class with n14 seems to be acting up?

2000 freightliner century class with n14. I was going 60 (70°F outside here) on the highway got off and drove 1/4 mile then idled for a minute or two. I shut the truck of and their is this clicking/air release noise. It had the cadence of a turn signal. So I open the hood and its the valve underneath the coolant reservoir. I didn't really know what it was but soon realized it was an electronically triggered solenoid for sending air to engage the fan clutch. If I put the key to the run position it stopped doing this. It did it again once later that night and then didn't do it after I parked the truck at home. The temp gauge on the truck was straight up in a normal operating range (tbh not positive but I think it was around 190-200.)

Not sure if this is related or not but I stopped in a pilot station to fill up and I went to switch the truck off while standing on the ground and I could swear it didn't shut off (There were trucks idling next to me so I couldn't really tell at first. I was flustered from a day of non stop troubles so I just turned the key back to run and said I'll figure this out later. I assumed it was the fuel shut off solenoid acting up but I kind of wonder if the computer wanted the truck to cool down and kept it running (somehow related the that solenoid)? I have no idea if it can do that or not. Anyways when I got home it shut off and everything was normal.

I can post a video up if that did not describe this issue well enough but I am guessing this is a fairly common thing and just more my ignorance than anything.

Everytime u have the ignitikn on the fab solenoid should put air thru to either engage or disegage the fan depends on the fan setup the is no such thing that the truck needs to dtay on to cool down when u shut off the truck there should be a puff of air coming from the solenoid when the power is cutting out. Sometimes the wires on the solenoid break right where they go in the body and this gives the symptoms youre describing until the wire gives out and then it wont get any more power and the fan should stay engaged or disegaged all the time. If the truck doesnt heat up and if the fam sounds like its running normally then just try to move around the connections a bit to see if you have a problem other than that nothing else really

. . . I didn't think it could keep itself on but I have used big cummins generators that will actually have a 1min cooldown after you have been running them hard so I wondered if maybe it was something like that. The truck isn't operating outside the normal temp range next time it starts to do it I'll wiggle those wires around a little. This is actually a toterhome conversion (built from the century class sleeper cab) and were taking it on a trip this weekend. So I wanted to make sure were all good. Thanks for the reply. It isn't really that hot here and I'll be on the highway the whole time so it may never even have to kick the fan in. It hardly ever does kick on but it does kick on from time to time on hot days.
