4+2=6 Snowwy better rethink what you are saying because according to you that's a crewcab with 6 axles. :biggrin_25512:

3 axles equals 6 tires. that's 6 abs sensors. which are located inside the brakes.

    least mine are.

    how's that for rethinking.

When I took delivery, it was raining, I was excited to get the truck, and since there was no body on it, I figured it was just bouncing around as the road from the dealer is pretty torn up. You're right though, I should have turned around and brought the thing back right then. Instead, I keep taking the #### thing back. Failure on my part.

The factory rep, salesman, and service manager all came down to my shop the yesterday and we took it for a ride. They didn't seem concerned that the truck almost caught fire not more than 10 minutes before when I was driving it around to get it warm for their visit. I even had video of the rear tires smoking and the factory rep seemed indifferent to this fact. Regardless, they of course said that the truck rides like every other M series they've been in. I'm going to at least get the proper sized tire put back on it and then take it to Cummins and work with them.

I have several option now for a new set of rubber in the rear:
    Michelin XZE or G670 RV
    Goodyear KSR I, G164 RTD, G622RSD, or G169 RSA

Any suggestions? The only time I'm not on pavement is the occasional grassy field or dirt lot. Otherwise, our typical trip is regional highway/byway. I'd like to be able to cruise down the highway without fighting the truck of course.

Time to pull out the big guns, forget the BBB and contact your state Attorney Generals office. You definitely were delivered a POS that isn't functional and is costing you money.

Get an independent shop to "Look" at the truck. Don't let them wrench on it, just get a written statement and a copy of the fault codes to go with it. Turn that and a statement over to the Attorney Generals office and they will work for you and get results. That's what we pay taxes for, use them. I have and gotten results. They are specifically for the "consumer".

Does the second truck in that picture have the same setup??? If it rides better, there is your documentation right there.. Is the right height in spec? Did it drive ok before your put on the larger tires? Maybe there is an issue with the driveline height.. Sounds like your dealer is a bit lazy. Why were the tires smoking? is there a brake grabbing, not releasing all the way?

My engine is running a bit better now at 30k miles.

The dealer installed the correct tires, so that is sorted. It still has some issues though: loses air over night at times, does a lot of regens even when pulling for long periods down the highway, one of the brake springs is a little wonky and gets stuck when releasing the parking break at times. I had to have all the seals on the rear end replaced at 20k miles. not under warranty. Which is bs. Also had to have the DEF pump replaced.

Had to emergency stop on the highway the other day and the transmission stayed locked in 6th gear. Nearly stalled the engine. Had to pull into a rest stop and restart the truck so it would shift again. It was a really weird situation.

I had to have my dpf pump done at 10,000 one of my biggest problems sense new is under steer issues along with Loss of power some times it will pull great 6th gear the next time same grade same load or even empty no power 3rd or 4th gear (automatic). By chance when I thumped my right 3rd axel tires the ones that have wheel speed sensors (abs) it would engage my service brakes "yes it engages my service brakes" went to freightliner approved shop they replaced several things at only 6000 miles and it did not fix problem. Freightliner sent tech to look at it a few times and could not explain it. From what I under stand the abs engineer was contacted with no fix the conclusion from freightliner is that "thumping the tires is not an accurate way of checking the tires and the service brakes engaging is normal". Still having this problem 50,000 miles no right still haveing same problems.
