Truck is a 2000 century with an n14. I have read through the manual and it doesn't really say what the target mpg, other than how to set it. I am very curious because to me it seems like the target would always be as high as you can get it. I imagine that it optimizes the cruise to not over compensate, etc. Of course that is just my uneducated guess. I would really like to hear if anyone knows what that actually does.
what does the target mpg do??

set it to the mpg u want to achieve then the plus or minus shows if you are hitting your target . If u set it too high you will be in minus all the time. Too low your in the plus . i used to start at 7 mpg then tweak from there . harder u push fuel the more you are in minus the lighter u push more plus showing . its a fuel economy gauge basically
MNdriver and luvtotruck Thank this. -
that's all it is. a quick look to see where you are in reference to your own personal target. nothing more nothing less....

my truck gives little trophy icons on the screen as a reward for reaching target. Had it shut off a while back -

that is my favorite gauge in the truck. dont use the cruise and utilize it as much as you can. your wallet will thank you.
it does not affect how the truck runs as far as i know ,but it shows you what your foot is costing you.
