CK gasket between PTO and trans. not enough gasket will not slide into gear.
-
I put a new one on so your saying I might need a different one thicker???
-
They make spacers for that, must be proper clearance, and each one seems to be different, I have seen some take quite a few spacers, (really thin shims shaped like the gasket).

take the 4 bolt shifter cover off the pto BEFORE you install the pto gear box to the transmission. once you bolt the pto to the tranny, check the gear lash on the transmission gear that drives the pto. as long as you have a small amount of play your fine. it may take a few gaskets stacked up to get it, or just once thin gasket to get it. once you get the clearance right, then you can install the pto 4 bolt shifter cover and refill with oil.
baha Thanks this.
