    Hey Guys,

I am purchasing a 2009 M2 and was wondering how Freightliner does their wire harness.

I am curious if they use one harness for all the trucks or if they have multiple depending on the options you order.

Example If I wanted to add say electric mirrors is the wiring already there you just have to add the mirrors and switches?

    Thanks

    Steve

This is a good question, I know in many other 4 wheelers are made this way, I have a Van that is a Mid model but is equipped with the additional wiring, for example if I wanted to run lights on the running boards the wiring is already there or Fog lights in the front buckets, The wiring is still there, One way to know is to take the mirror apart. Hope this helps.

an M2 is a "multiplex" vehicle, similar to most newer cars.it means 1 wire may have multiple functions depending on how much of a ground signal or voltage that is sent through it.it was freightliner's first try at multiplexing.if this M2 has not been to them for multiple software upgrade recalls the first thing you will notice is that the wipers are "alive"they will work while driving at random.wiring is unlike anything you have seen except in cascadia.good luck.
