I have a 2009 Freightliner Columbia with Detroit 60 engine, engine check red light comes on sporadically, shuts down the engine, I switch off ignition for 5 seconds, truck is able to start back on right way. No codes except 154. Took it to Detroit dealer, sank 250.00 and a day. Truck shuts down on idle with 1500 rpm as well. Had laptop hooked up and let it shutdown but still no codes. I am driving it, when shuts down I put in neutral, switch off ignition 5 second and crank it back on. I motived I used to get regen light every few days but did not get that for ten days now. Some mechanic told me to change injector and engine harnesses, can't spend 2000.00 with a possibility that it might not be the issue. Please advise.

Our Columbias do the same thing. It's a harness to the injectors filling up with oil. Seems to be a common problem on our Columbias.

Thanks for info, do you think replacing injector harness will fix this problem?

Nah our just needed to be unplugged and sprayed out with brake cleaner. Before I figured out what it was my company just told me to wedge a paper clip in the shutdown override.

I will try that, thanks again!!

2011 DDEC 15, had same issue after 440,000. Replaced injectors and harness twice, problems persisted.
Can understand being shy of dropping $2k on it . . . Good luck.
