Mileage? What engine? Tire wear? Any history if repairs? Maintenance log?

mileage 480,745 -
might wanna take it for a test drive and see what the rpms are at for your cruising speed you'll be driving. 3.9 might be a little high.
every truck i've been in since coming back out on the road. have all had 3.5's. i cruise at 65. in 12 rpms are 1550. in 13 it's 1475. i get better mileage in 12. even when empty. i seem to lose .1 - .2 in 13 gear. depending on terrain.
you didn't mention price. hard for anyone to say good buy or not without a price.montrealtrucker Thanks this. -
its $42,500

If its from Ryder its been rode hard and put up wet.
JPenn Thanks this. -
i drove a Penske truck for few months and they had one of the best maintenance programs i have seen..so if they are anything like them you're off to a good start. But, anytime you buy a truck from ANYONE, it's your responsibility to kick the tires and make sure everything is in working order. I wouldn't trust anyone when it comes to buying equipment. The mileage is great for an '09 but i would try and haggle down the price 35-37 sounds good ..of course that should always be contingent upon a good dyno, oil sample, ecm download, road test, and maybe a rig dig report couldn't hurt

It could be from RYDERS own logistics fleet or a fleet lease unit and not a daily rental unit

3.90's gonna be hard on fuel

14.8L should have more then enough torq to handle a taller gear. I have a C15 with 3.25 rear gear. Sweet spot is 65 - 68 mph at 1400 - 1450 rpms. Even near gross, will still climb the hills with out much fuss.
If given the choice, I would focus on fuel economy even if it meant making a few concessions.jbatmick Thanks this.
