Finally it turned out that I have to do the king pins. Many owner operators say, the best king pins are these with the metal bushings, the plastic bushings only last 50 000 miles. But I have seen king pins with bronze bushings and with stainless steel. Friend of mine said the S.S. bushings are made for dump trucks and off highway trucks. Some shops offer STEMCO KAISER made in USA. What is your experience with king pins?
Are STEMCO KAISER the best quality king pins?

Have not had any issues with stemco products, they are good quality and stand behind their stuff. Like any other product life depends on lube, keep up on the PM schedule and keep grease in them you should get long life.

S.S. bushings are good.

I recommend the stemco no ream spiraled pins and bushings to all my customers. They will come with a go no go gauge to check the pin hole in your axle. If its worn you will have to have it bored and a bushing put in or replace axle beam. Most repeated king pin wear is due to axle wear. Most say nothing there moves so it can't wear, it does.

I got 3/4 million miles on the original plastic bushings.
Went with brass when I replaced 'em just cause... hey it's brass not plastic!
