My 05 Columbia with 2-140 gal tanks:

Low fuel light comes on at 200-207 gallons consumed. So I should have 80 gallons remaining, but I've only burned another 40 one time before I ran out of nerve. 40 galons is enough to do a half days work, so when I'm looking for LTL to fill the deck, I'll let it burn down to where the light comes on cause that's another 1500# (+/-) capacity.

Let it empty out till the low fuel light comes in and then fill it up and do the math.

At 7.5 mpg you should clock 1500 miles mathematically. But because of the many different driving situations, 1200 miles would be my comfort zone as an owner operator.

No one can answer that question... there are so many variables fuel gage, weight of load, terrain ect...

I've filled my tanks at 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and with the low fuel light on and wrote down the gallons used as a reference. Then if I need to run past empty I have an idea of how far I can go based on that tankful's consumption.

But this time of year I don't play around with the "fuel limbo".
