I've been looking at a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia with 290k miles on it. It's powered by a 455/515 DT. It is also equipped with a 13sp, 355 rears and a Espar heater. Truck is super clean with new brakes and Michelin XDA-Es all the way around new. It does not have a def system on it. What if any issues has anyone experienced? What fuel mileage, loaded reefer (heavy), are you all experiencing?

It is 2011 with diesel injection. Truck being sold at a corporate freightliner dealer along with 30 others. The later 2011 came with def. So chip your not answering my question or are you here just to give me your expert opinion on what the truck has and don't have? For anyone else who wishes to answer. I have inspected the truck top to bottom, back to front, and went over all the specs, including all warranty work done to it. I think after 32 years I get what I'm looking at, All I'm asking is what fuel mileage your getting and what issues if any your having with the truck.

Wasnt trying to be rude.. you asked about issues from that year truck. I figured it may be a red flag, being a pre def truck and someone is selling it as a 2011. Good luck with your purchase

EPA regs are tied to the year the engine was made. That 2011 could have come with one of the pre-scr/def engines that was sitting around waiting to get put in something. Anything is possible nowadays.

Not any different than my 2013 having a 2000 engine in it with no EPA stuff on it.

I would pull a ECM report and see what the MPG's are for that truck. And a Rigdig report. That will tell you a lot too.

I pulled a ECM report, showing 7.3 overall. I rented the same truck for 2 days, got 8.2. Just don't know much about the reliability. They also have a 2013 demo with 23k about 15k more in price. Just hate to give up my classic, been very dependable. Just looking to get a better fuel mileage dependable truck.

No problem, very stressful decision. You hear so much but how much is true with these newer trucks. Same said about my egr system and yet can't say I have had any real problems with it. Replaced 2 v-pods over the last 5 years. Just gets horrible fuel mileage in the cold winter months.
