I have a frieghtliner Columbia since last week the clutch has been grinding every time I stop it starts happening after I've been driving it for about 30 mins. I have showed it to 2 different mechanics they adjusted the clutch it's hasn't made any difference they also said the clutch looks fine to them. And FYI I recently change all the tires from low pro to regular I have been told that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem. It would be helpful if anyone has experienced this or has any input on this issue.

What do you mean by grinding? When sitting and the clutch in you hear a grinding noise? or do you mean it grinds when you try to stick it in gear sitting still?

Grinds every time I'm trying to put it in gear

If the clutch is adjusted correctly freeboard and brake, And it still does it. Possibly some of the dampening springs on the clutch plates have broken and fallen down causing the plates to jam and try and drive all the time. Bit definitely make sure the clutch brake is adjusted and in good condition first.

Clutch break I have concerns about the mechanics if they can't figure this out. If it was the throwout bearing it would only make noise when your clutch is not depressed
JohnnyC Thanks this. -
Usually when the springs break you will have a vibration
