It mounts on the back of the air compressor. Near the large steel braded line coming off the back of the compresser its not near the dryer. It regulated the air otherwise air lines would blow

Your governor is mounted on the air dryer, which is mounted on the front of your air tank on the left side frame rail, under the driver side step

    robbiehorn Thanks this.

It's down there on the air dryer badluck. Thanks Chip S for finding it for me. I'm a half a&& mechanic. :biggrin_2551:I just got the head put back on it because it had some bad intake valves ,replaced all the brake shoes & drums, replaced the heater core in the sleeper, all by myself with help from asking questions on here and got it running. Engine runs a lot better now, was popping back through the intake. Just so you know that I can do more than just hold the steering wheel.lol I just bought this truck a couple months ago and it had a few problems and I am working all them out of it before I put it to work. It had some air leaks and the previous owner turned up the air pressure instead of repairing the leaks. This forum has been a big help to me and I try to help anyone on here as well.

Chip S and The Challenger Thank this.
