Thankfully I was near a freightliner. All of the sudden my truck just started "coughing". It acts as if its sucking air. As im stepping on fuel pedal it will go then back off(while still on the pedal) and then start again. I checked all fuel lines and they are ok. So I limped to freightliner and while in the shop he says my boost sensor has gone bad and the vanes(sp) in the turbo show signs of not responding(I think that's what he said) He said the boost sensor could have caused that.....if that's NOT the case with the vanes...would I need a new turbo??

If the vnt vanes are binding, you will need a new turbo. Before you put a turbo on, when the time comes, get the engine troubleshot first. There are a bunch of different issues that you could be having not allowing the turbo to work right.
