Adding opt. switches on a 2010 cascadia

    Hello all, I just bought a 2010 Cascadia and I am needing some insight on adding opt. switches. I drive a flatbed so I need to add a switch for: 1. Trailer air dump 2. Truck rear spot/flood lights (so I can see cargo at night) 3.Trailer spot lights ( I used them when I back up, at rear of my trailer). My truck has 2 switch clusters with the o.e.m. switches but, I have seen some trucks with a 3rd cluster with Opt. and blank switches. How can I add this to my truck? and if so how can I go about adding the option switches.....:biggrin_2554: I am trying to keep a O.E.M. lOOk. Last resort I will put the normal toggle switches......??? ANYBODY!

    Simple, sorta. You can add additional MSF slaves (the case that holds 4 switches) by just buying a new housing and whatever switches you need. You will need to go to a dealer and get those switches programmed. They are connected to the CAN databus through just a jumper wire (daisy chain).

    After that, you can wire in all your options to either the sam cab or sam chassis.

    I try to tell u how does Mercedes MSF works. All switches are really samll electronic devices connected with K-line bus wire. No difference what place it is installed, the function is the same. Daimler used this system the first time on Actros MP-II in 2002 and they found this approach very flexible so they do the same on some other daimler trucks
