I placed an order for a Columbia mid roof from Fitzgerald last week. I ordered it with 3.58's and a 10 speed. Hoping for some decent mpg's out of it. I am getting a little better than 7 out of my 99-379. But I will be putting a driver in this truck so not sure what to expect. It Should be here within a month. Finally decided to be a multi truck owner. If it is what I hope it is I will buy another one in June when they get a new shipment of mid roof columbia's. Now to find a driver.

Could have ordered with 13 sp.

Mc what engine are putting in that Columbia? If it is the pre egr series 60 I strongly suggest researching the benefits of the 13 speed. I screwed up when I bought my freightliner by going with a ten speed. The gear jump between 9th and tenth is just to big. Like you I have the 3.58 rears. I'm on 24.5lp tires. At 63 mph I'm sitting at the very bottom of the power band, 1250 rpm. What happens with all but the longest of loads is I have to shift at every tiny grade. And the gear range down to 9th is so big of a jump I need to let the road speed droop ALL the way to 45 in order to not be running the engine higher than I like. (I hate having the rpm over 1600, it just kills the fuel mileage). If I ha ordered the 13 speed instead of letting some jerk off moron salesman talk me into the ten speed I could split the top gear and be able to maintain respectable road speed without looking fuel economy on the small grades.
