Bar's Leak is only a temporary fix to a minor problem like a hairline crack in the head gasket. It also tends to clog radiators pores and coat sensors. I would never use it unless you absolutely needed to buy a week or two to raise money. Then you risk putting yourself in the position of a tow and set yourself back farther. It has to be fixed regardless, fix it now if you can.

If it's leaking from the water pump you can forget it. You are not far from total failure like less than 100 miles.

Are you company or OO? Where exactly is it leaking?

Mans right...... it will also clog every other small opening. Where the water is coming from is important however the key is nothing tossed in the radiator is a fix for a mechanical problem.

    Good luck

These guys are correct. It seals everything but what needs to sealed. And, because it does such a great job of solving the problem for A WEEK, it's hard to resist using it 'just one more time'. All the while it's damaging other things as was stated.

If it's a compression fitting it might just need a hair tightened to stop leaking. If it's a hose it either needs tightened or it might be cracked where the clamp digs in. It would need replaced but if you have the length you could get by with cutting the bad out. Usually a hose is degrading by that point.

He plainly states it's the head gasket, not a water pump, not a fitting, not a hose. The head gasket. Op, if it's just a drop run her home, just carry a couple gallons of water with you. You can change a head gasket for 300 max. Ships gonna charge you over two grand. Might be time to break out the wrenches and get your hands dirty.

No no no. It will gunk up everything and will NOT work for a head gasket because the pressures are too high.. Coolant pressures generally only run between 7-13psi. You need to get it fixed
