Check all of your gauges, the air gauge on mine had a short, and the lights would stay on very dim on all the gauges.

Open up your passanger side b piller and stick your hand down until you can pull up a wiring harness. There will be a black connector (I think 6 pin connector). It contains the 12v all time power for the clock above the windshields (all century class and columbias have them pre-wired). That connector also has wire 29A in it, which is the lights for all gauges. That connector likes to corrode. If it is corroded, just cut it out and heat shrink all wires one by one.

That was it (b piller 6 pin connecter)

Thanks that's what my problem was -

Great! Glad you got it figured out. I had one whoop me about 7 years ago and I havnt forgotten haha. the only way would have been to remove the "clock fuse" or whatever fuse powers up the clock power.

This also fixed my lights above the seats to work when doors are closed.
Not sure but it did.

Have the same problem but also the engine stop light would come on and the engine would quit ,sure enough that plug was corroded ,just move the wires and everything worked and engine stop light went out and so the dash lights ,thanks for saving me endless hours of searching ,could have turned into a nightmare ,
Chip S Thanks this. -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH CHIP S! Don't know why I had not thought to look under the cover for passenger seat belt winder to get the dash lights to go out. Hope that also fixed intermitant gauge problem. Still have check eng light on and J1922 data link failure code. Any ideas?
Chip S Thanks this.
