I have a 2010 Cascadia with a Detroit DD15 engine. I am getting the check engine light and also a fault code that doesn't make sense to me. Code reads.. ENG Coolant TEMP Sht Hi 128 110 03. Also I think same code but displays differently.. ENG SA00 SPN004 03. Active code is there even when engine is cold. Any ideas?

Fluid level fine, cap is ok.

Coolant level sensor on tank needs replacing.
abenaki Thanks this. -
Will try that, thanks.

coolant temperature sensor causing CEL and engine fan not coming on from your previous post.
-
It is not the coolant level sensor in the tank. That is telling you that the coolant temperature sensor is shorted high. Could be a failed sensor, bad connection or a wiring issue.
-
Had the same code on mine when they replaced the sensor all fixed.

can anyone give a link for 2010 frt coronado dd15 fault codes???

I have to agree with most people here, coolant temp sensor and not the CLS. Try the sensor first, it is the least expensive option and the look into the pigtail. Replace them both at the same time.
