I have a 2010 Cascadia with a Detroit DD15 engine. I am getting the check engine light and also a fault code that doesn't make sense to me. Code reads.. ENG Coolant TEMP Sht Hi 128 110 03. Also I think same code but displays differently.. ENG SA00 SPN004 03. Active code is there even when engine is cold. Any ideas?

It is not the coolant level sensor in the tank. That is telling you that the coolant temperature sensor is shorted high. Could be a failed sensor, bad connection or a wiring issue.

    mgrantes and whskypete Thank this.

I have to agree with most people here, coolant temp sensor and not the CLS. Try the sensor first, it is the least expensive option and the look into the pigtail. Replace them both at the same time.
