Never done one in a freightshaker. If you're somewhat mechanically inclined it wont be too bad. Just follow the a/c lines running up to the firewall and into the cab. From there I would just start removing dash panels and dig it out of there. Start near passenger side footwell. That's where it's located. Why do you need to get to the evaporator?

I think it might be leaking freon

Oh ok got ya. Just a quick tip that an old timer showed me at work one time. If the system is empty with no refrigerant in it, and you hook up your machine and start pulling a vacuum on the system, use a long piece of tubing as listening device and run it along the lines and around a/c components and listen for a sucking sound. Also, filling the system with nitrogen and using soapy water works really well. However, not every DIY has a nitrogen set up.

Thanks, I'll try that.

You can rig up an A/C fitting to a regulator. 50 psi of shop air and soapy water has found more leaks for me than the $350 Snap-On leak detector. Just replace the dryer and pull a good vacuum on it when you're done.
