    Hi,

as my name suggest, I am not an owner / operator or mechanic. My mom and stepfather were owner / operators until an accident claimed both their lives. I've come here hoping that someone can help me piece together, mechanically speaking, what may have happened immediately following the collision.

My initial question(s) is / are, where is the battery box located on a 2007 Freightliner Century and is it something that could be readily relocated?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Forum moderators, if this is inappropriate, I sincerely apologize. I'm simply trying to understand how the catastrophic event happened.

    King regards,
    N/T73

Depends, Most battery boxes will be on the drivers side of the trk. just under the bunk area.
But some are mounted between the frame rails just behind the sleeper.
Yes they can readly be relocated.
I did that with my trk.
I moved the battery box from under the cab on the drivers side and installed it on my walkway.
Can be done is less than a day. Depends on who did it.
Also if you have the serail number of the trk. go to a Freightliner dealer.
Give them the serail number and they can tell you where the factory installed the battery box when it was built.
Then if it is in a different location you know it had been moved.
    Sorry for your loss..

Thanks for the response! Where would I find the serial #? The cab of the truck and most of the contents were totally destroyed and what remains is located in Marshal, TX. I'm in North Carolina.

The VIN should be on the title of said vehicle. The title should be available.

I'm also sorry for your loss.

It should also be on any insurance policies and permits.

    My condolences....

Life is very un-predictable sometimes. I have seen a lot of things out on the road that has convinced me that at any point in time something very bad can happen. Though these are tough times, we must ask others for help...it's ok. You have come to the right place to seek answers to trucking related issues. I hope these fine people who responded have showed you the good side of the trucking community.
