frustrated

    I have a 1998 freightliner fl80 8.3 cummins p-7100 injector pump we replaced it becouse the body was leaking the truck was having a problem sometimes at 65 mph it will fall on its face like its not getting fuel then around 55 mph it will pick back up and go sometimes it will do it again within 1-2 miles other times it wont any help would be verry appreciated

    Just a guess, but I have a mack that did that and it was the throttle position sensor.

    this truck is cable driven direct to the pump. I looked for any type of wires and there wasnt any that I could see thanks for trying

    I would think start with simple stuff like replacing all the fuel filters.

    So . . Did the truck do this before the leaking fuel pump was replaced?

    Ever replace fuel line? They sometimes collapse and starve the engine of fuel.

    I replaced the fuel filter and the mechanical lift pump still have the problem I was going to try the valve under the cab for the two fuel tanks I'ii check the fuel lines while I'm in there

    yes. The truck did this before I replaced the injector pump I figured if it was leaking fuel that it was sucking air and that was causing the problem

    its a p7100 I found the problem someone had installed a remote filter that i wasnt aware of I have only worked for this company for a short time and they didnt have verry good mechanic records on this truck. Thanks for all the help
