I have 07 century w detroit 60series. I thought leak was from coolant reservoir so I replaced brand new reservoir tank but after drove 500 miles the level dropped from Max and about 2inch. I check all the coolant lines on the engine and have not spotted any leak. Is there any other lines that deal w coolant?

Maybe head gasket or pitted liner.

I also would like to say when I got rid of old coolant reservoir there was some oil in it which make the tank looks dark.

there could be several reasons for this. At first I was going to suggest that the cause was an EGR cooler and tell you how to diagnose that problem. But now that you said you're coolant is dark I am leaning towards an injector cup. Detroit series 60 s are known for the injector cups leaking.if its an injector cup it's actually diesel fuel getting into your coolant not oil

Have you ruled out the bunk heater? When you park it overnight, is there a puddle under the right rear corner of the bunk?

Also, how full are you filling the reservoir initially? Mine will spit out anything 1/4" above the "Cold Min" line almost immediately and then stay there for months on end until the small leak in the bunk heater finally causes me to add just a little.

i don't have bunk heater in my truck. Also I should've flush all the coolant out when I bought the truck two month ago. It was already dark and i thought it was when old coolant reservoir was old/dirt

Should I clean the coolant out then? Would it be head gasket if oil could be go through coolant?

i post on one of the thread, i had exactly same problem with that other guy that there is water dripping from passenger between air filter/firewall. It could be ac after i used right? I remember before i bought the truck, they have bypassed the heater line for the bunk so they put the line back in so i can used heater on the bunk. i wonder if that caused the problem for heater core?
