So I'm in a 2015 evolution and the Jake only comes on when I tap the service break...can I get my company(total transportation) to change how the Jake is activated? And what are your thoughts about this?

if you have the mercedes 12 speed autoshift there are 2 different jakes one you set on the column on right side
and a switch CC1 on the dash that holds the truck at speed in cruise

it isn't your mothers buick as the saying goes

It's a Detroit engine with a dt12 trans I think it's dangerous to have to hit the break for the Jake to work on some of the mountains I go througj

Button on right side closest to you.

    Make sure it is on.

If Jake not working quick enough for you, hit paddle to a lower gear.

The sensor in the tranny needs you to communicate with it.

Even an auto needs a little input from the driver.

it a software setting in the ecm...... it's set so you must hit the breaks for X amount of time before they come on....that's they way they ordered it...........there is nothing YOU can do to change it

you can talk to total about changing it (they can plug in and change it)...... but it's not going to happen because some bean counter thinks having it set this way will save fuel....

i see in another thread your sitting because it is windy in Ohio
with the high wind warning and you being empty that seems prudent
so exactly which hills are you worried about the jake
every truck you drive will be different just like a woman
you need to massage the best out of them

    x#1 Thanks this.
