Starting to do my research on the new auto trany that Freightliner is introducing. Currently, I drive a Volvo I-shift that I really like. In the spring I plan on a new purchase. Need to know what people are experiencing with the auto Freightliners. I have had no problem with my I-shift. Am a bit leery on trying out something new and paying dearly in the end.
New Mercedes Auto Trany-anyone driving one?

They are a pretty good transmission. But, I would be getting an Allison TC-10 or HD4060, both are full and real automatics with torque converters. The feel of them is much different then any auto shift you will ever drive. With the Allison, you don't have to worry about it getting stuck in gear and torque locking at a dock and not being able to start. OR, replacing the electric shift actuators. They may cost more, but well worth it IMO.

Does anybody know the final drive ratio of the TC10 vs the HD4060?
