Hello , I was wondering if anyone ever had this issue before.
I recently had a new turbo put on and all of a sudden my truck runs super strong in the first five and dogs out in the high five. From 6th to 10th dramatic power loss. Like it wont allow me to go above 14 RMPs as if I had been governed.

I have a Detroit 60 Series Motor, 14 L. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Never happened to me but it sounds like wrong turbo. Need more info tho like see any smoke? Hear any strange noises ? If it was fine before it went in ( less turbo problems ) and now this....then I suspect too small or former VGT now fixed geometry. Or if equipped pressure dump / waste gate is open, not functioning. Sounds like you lost all the horsepower aka no air volume to make hp.

There should be a tag on turbo....get numbers and verify with Detroit or trusted parts guy. Don't ask vendor that sold you turbo.

    My 2 cents.....

Hey Chalupa thank you for your 2 cents. I don't see any smoke or hear any strange noises. Just loss of power on high range 6-10. Mechanics trying to trouble shoot it now.

Check your alternator overcharging. I had same problem last year that you have but loss of power in 7th gear and up

I really appreciate all the feedback. Got it all fixed up.
Turns out the fuel filter they put on during a PM wasn't for my motor. Changed it out as well as my air filter and good to go. Thanks again. Be safe out there.
