I have entire switch in my hand. Put paper clip in hole felt spring pop. Insert key and turn to left but tumbler does not come out. Any ideas before I drive off cliff?

The spring inside had come apart and was not letting it release! Cut it open.

I just let a mechanic pop mine out! I took out the old and walked it over to him with the new, and let him do it. They are a real pain in the ### as you are experiencing.

A dealer can look up your key code with the last 6 of your vin. Any decent locksmith will be able to make you a key for about $10 with this key code. That's how we do it here.

    QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this.

Yes I tried this but eventually the key didn't work because the locks were probably switched out before. So I purchased a new set of door locks and ignition key tumbler but was wondering how to remove the tumbler without having the actual key ...Thanks for the info...

How do you replace the tumblers in the door?
