The prices look good but who exactly makes the turbos on that website? Seems kinda sketchy.

Jm technology group out of Southern California. Go to their site and everything about them is on the "about us" tab. I've had one on my truck for a year and still doing good. No core charge and one year parts warranty

I did. And for a second time. Looks sketchy to me. Southern CA is a great place to import from China. From their about us:

ok, buy one from BW or the dealer if you want. I was just putting out there the fact that they've been good to me. And, even if it does go, I can buy 5 more for the price that Volvo wanted for one.

I didn't say buy from the dealer but a lot of these knockoffs look just like the real deal. You can't buy direct from BW have to go thru a parts dealer. Really I guess in a way it doesn't matter and you're right. I had a genuine BW that blew up with only 300,000 miles for no good or real reason as far as anyone can tell so maybe I would be better off to try my luck with Chinese at a 1/4 of the cost. So probably I am the last person that should be defending them. Hopefully that was just a fluke. Sure did suck.

If it works so what? There are quite a few things we buy everyday that are made in China. A lot of things that are "made in the USA " are assembled using Chinese parts. You buy one like Rollin coal said and it blows up at 300,000 mi it's out of warranty and you put out another $3-5k. Did it really matter whether it was BW, holset, Garrett, etc or Chinese?

You guys say"knockoff" like they are built out of plastic. its a well made part using cast iron, aluminum, stainless clamps and brass bearings with the same warranty and no core charge.

Main problem when they blow up is does It cost you a arm and a leg for a tow that you may be forced to pay if your blocking traffic.. Limping it may cost a motor .. Knockoffs are knockoffs you never know for sure what you get

    fargonaz Thanks this.
