If a garrett comes apart you don't have to have it towed?? Never knew that

I have purchased 2 of these! Both have failed quickly. Today I had one blow apart on a cat motor and put one hell of a extruding dent in the top of my Pete hood. Pissed off all to beat hell and waiting on there reply about what they plan to do for me. Not a good deal until they get there #### together.

My friend purchased a JM Turbo and we installed it in February of 2017.

He started complaining after a month that he was hearing a grinding noise when it was under load like climbing a hill.

We finally tore it apart yesterday because we had to replace the turbo oil return line that was leaking.

Sure enough the front impeller blade is contacting the sides of the housing.

I contacted JM Turbo around 13:30 today and spoke to Jose. I explained to him the problem and he instructed my friend to take pictures of the impeller and text it to him and he would show it to their mechanic and determine the next step.

Since the phone call this afternoon we haven't heard anything from them yet, so we'll wait till tomorrow and I'll update this post.

Borg and Warner brand new and better and cheaper than rebuilt Detroit. I’ve replaced two of them not hard at all. What your seeing is probably fuel not oil. Caused from excessive idle I believe. I think I paid about $550 at TruckPro in stock if not call ahead 1 day. Like mentioned rebuilds for less. I read recently somewhere on this website about an upgrade borg and Warner that better than orig replacement part. That is there is apparently 2 choices B&G turbos that will work.Change yours yourself before it blows.Check air to air cooler for leaks by putting 30 + lbs in it and see if it holds. Some leakage over time is allowed check for proper specs if needed. Radiator works in Wyandotte Mi has best product and service I’ve found yet. About $600 for USA and $350 for Chinese air to air. If it blows on you and oil gets into air to air you’ll have to have it boiled out and checked for leaks or buy new one anyway.

Variable geometry turbos in egr engines cost more and aren't as durable. 2005 Detroit would be egr.
